Dawn over Striding Edge Lake District Print
These scenes are something I like doing a lot, especially with Oils. I love the bursts of sunlight shining through the trees in the distance. There’s nothing like walking on a beach at sunset or sunrise and watch time pass. It calms the mind and fills me with great enthusiasm for painting. A walk is always guaranteed to make me feel creative. My style of painting is one which has developed over time and is still evolving with each new painting. I try to capture a sense of realism, of being there, with out being a slave to photo realism. It’s also important to keep pushing the boundaries of what your comfortable with, not to settle into a formula of what works.
