Eilean Donan Castle – Scotland
Castles, churches and old building are so interesting to paint, capturing the feel of a structure, its history and beauty is a great challenge for me when I paint. The old, the new and the barely standing, everyone of them has a story and I find them so interesting to paint.
I think my style of painting is one which has developed over time and is still evolving with each new painting. I try to capture a sense of realism, of being there, with out being a slave to photo realism. I think its also important to keep pushing the boundaries of what your comfortable with, not to settle into a formula of what works.
